Thrive Cannabis Licensing Consultants Do Much More Than License Applications
September 20, 2022BC Liquor License Audits Make Good Business Sense
October 17, 2022A new cannabis Producer Retail Store (PRS) license for farm-gate sales will become effective November 30, 2022, as announced by BC Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch policy directive 22-14 (PDF). The new retail cannabis license class enables federally-licensed cannabis producers to sell cannabis from a store at their production site.
The long-anticipated cannabis farm-gate sales license is welcome news to federally-licensed cultivators who have patiently waited since cannabis farm-gate licensing plans were first announced in September 2020.
Policy directive 22-14 also amended Cannabis Licensing Regulations (CLR) to allow cannabis retail and PRS store patrons to open cannabis packages in-store after purchase for inspection. The directive also changes the limit of cannabis plant sales to four per transaction.
