Annual Planning for BC Private Liquor Stores – How a Liquor License Consultant Helps
January 17, 2026Naturo Group has received a BC liquor co-packing licence, allowing the company to bottle, blend, flavour, and package alcoholic beverages on behalf of licensed brand owners at its Bridesville, British Columbia facility. Read the news release.
What the liquor co-packing licence allows:
- Authorizes Naturo to co-pack alcoholic beverages for third-party licensees
- Co-packing of ready-to-drink, functional, and other value-added beverage products
- Enables co-packing of both alcohol and no-alcohol beverages
- Requires that brand owners have liquor manufacturing and sales authorizations
- Does not permit direct retail or direct wholesale sales
How Does This Relate to BC Liquor Manufacturer Licensing?
A BC liquor co-packing licence is distinct from a BC liquor manufacturing licence and does not authorize manufacturing activities such as distilling, fermenting, or brewing. Licensed manufacturers retain ownership of the product at all times and are responsible for SKU registration, storage, and sales authorization. The co-packer’s role is limited to approved production activities such as bottling, blending, flavouring, and packaging, after which the product is returned to the manufacturer.
Impact on the BC Liquor Market
Naturo’s co-packing license is a sign of continued growth in BC’s beverage alcohol sector, particularly in ready-to-drink and emerging product categories. Expanded access to co-packing in BC may lower barriers for new brands and shorten supply chains.
