January 12, 2024BC Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) recently announced a change to BC liquor license renewals. Purchases made from other licensees are now excluded from the calculation.
The changes announced apply to the following liquor licenses:
- Liquor Primary
- Food Primary
- Licensee Retail Store
- Rural Liquor Retail Store
- Wine Store
- Catering
See “Renewing Your License” in your Liquor License Terms & Conditions Handbook.
LCRB notes that that the way liquor license renewal fees are calculated is not changing. The renewal fee calculation will continue to be based on the amount of liquor purchased in the 12-month period that ends 6-months before the license expires. You can renew your liquor license online by logging into the Liquor and Cannabis Licensing portal. You must first register for a BCeID.
