Buying a Cannabis License & Store Made Easy
December 14, 2022Is Buying a BC Liquor Store License a Good Idea During Inflation or Recession?
December 20, 2022The Cannabis Council of Canada (C3) has submitted a response to the Cannabis Act Legislative review panel. The plea and recommendations call for immediate financial support for the legal cannabis industry, and changes needed in laws and policies that will reduce stigmatization of legal cannabis. The purpose of the review is to assess the success of the cannabis legislative framework. The expert panel accepted submissions from stakeholders and the public. Public engagement was open from September 22 to November 21, 2022.
C3 is asking the government to address five priorities:
- Fix federal, provincial and territorial excise tax, government distributor mark-ups, and end regulatory fees
- Level the playing field with the illicit market
- Allow licensed producers and processors to provide consumers with evidence-based information on the effects of cannabis
- Eliminate costly “nanny state” regulations
- Strengthen patient access to medical cannabis
